Research

Research space and facilities occupy half of the Kadoorie Centre. There are offices for researchers, space for support staff and fully networked computing facilities. A core “wet” laboratory for the preparation and storage of samples and simple assays is included to aid basic science / clinical collaborative studies. The large research area brings together researchers from a wide range of disciplines to pool ideas and expertise.

Examples of collaborative research projects currently based in the Kadoorie Centre include:

  • Treatment and rehabilitation of ankle fractures
  • Injury prevention
  • Packages of care for hip fractures in the elderly
  • Physiological monitoring of surgical and medical patients
  • Multi-centre trials of interventions in critically ill patients
